Jaime Cardenas-Navia Named a 2026 Latino & Hispanic Leadership Award Recipient
Partner Jaime Cardenas-Navia has been named a recipient of the 2026 Mid-Year Latino & Hispanic Leadership Award by Profiles in Leadership Journal (PLJ). The award recognizes professionals who have overcome challenges, created opportunities, mentored others, and achieved excellence in their chosen fields.
In his essay for PLJ, Jaime examines how AI is reshaping legal work—and why that makes a lawyer's judgment more valuable, not less. As he puts it:
"This technology will supercharge attorneys, not render them obsolete."
Jaime compares AI's impact to the Internet's democratization of legal information, explaining that AI will similarly expand access to high-quality legal analysis and services. But the essential work, he argues, still belongs to the attorney:
“AI will set a higher baseline for legal work, but top attorneys will continue to add value the same way they always have: through the consistent exercise of sound judgment.”
That judgment, he explains, is knowing not just which arguments can be made, but which should be made; not just what advice to give a client, but how and when to give it; and how to connect with a jury on both a logical and emotional level.
