Patrick Colsher Speaks at the 64th Annual Conference on Intellectual Property Law

Partner Patrick Colsher will speak at the Center for American and International Law’s 64th Annual Conference on Intellectual Property Law, held November 5–6, 2026, in Plano, Texas.

Patrick will join the panel “Design Patents are Having a Moment: Prosecution and Litigation after LKQ” on Thursday, November 5, at 3:15 p.m. CT. Ariane Mann of Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing is also on the panel. The panelists will examine design patent practice since the en banc Federal Circuit overruled the Rosen-Durling test, the long-standing framework for design patent obviousness, in LKQ v. GM. They will cover how the USPTO and the courts now apply the Graham factors to design claims, and what that means for prosecution strategy, enforcement, and invalidity defenses.
