Law.com and The Daily Report Selects Sarah Jorgensen as Attorney of the Year Finalist

Sarah Jorgensen, one of the founding partners of RJLF, has been named a finalist for "Attorney of the Year" in the 2024 Southeastern Legal Awards by Law.com and The Daily Report. This recognition is a testament to her dedication, innovative legal strategies, and impactful contributions to her clients and the legal community.

With more than 25 years of experience, Sarah is an accomplished trial lawyer focusing on complex commercial litigation. She brings her analytical skills to bear on a range of both trial and appellate matters in commercial, complex tort, antitrust, intellectual property, and energy litigation.

Within the submission period, Sarah’s standout accomplishment included securing a precedent-setting victory on behalf of the California Restaurant Association (CRA) in the “gas ban on stoves” case against the City of Berkeley. The Ninth Circuit reversed the District Court’s ruling and held that Berkeley’s ban on natural gas hookups is preempted by federal law and therefore invalid. The win earned the RJLF team The AmLaw Litigation Daily’s “Litigator of the Week” runners-up recognition, and the case garnered extensive national attention from major news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, and Reuters, among others.

Winners will be announced in certain categories and all honorees will be recognized at an awards event on June 20, 2024 in Atlanta, GA. More information on the event can be found here.
