Amit Dhillon Sandhu focuses on patent litigation and strategy, leveraging her tech background and a strong foundation in legal research, analysis, and litigation support. She has extensive experience assisting with pre-trial and trial proceedings, including pre-litigation diligence, conducting infringement and invalidity analyses, collaborating with expert witnesses, and supporting the development of expert reports. Whether in federal court or before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Amit is a trusted force behind high-stakes patent cases.
Amit earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in International Law. During law school she sharpened her skills through hands-on roles as a legal extern at Unified Patents, a student associate at the SCU Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic, and a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge DeMarchi at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She also served as Research Editor on the board of Santa Clara Law Review and as Senior Articles Editor on the board of Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal.
Before attending law school, Amit gained valuable experience in India working on intellectual property and business strategy. She managed a global patent database, led patent landscaping and freedom to operate (FTO) projects, and advised clients on the U.S. and E.U. market entry strategies including filing (NDAs, ANDAs and BLAs) and litigation strategies.
